Frequently Asked Questions
Why should we use Clearpath?
Legal requests for our facilities must go through the Clearpath platform to be fulfilled. Clearpath helps us fulfill requests for records and images more quickly, with less paperwork going back and forth, by adopting a digital process. Previous, non-digital processes required mailing documents/discs and lengthy processing times, and requests would sometimes get lost in the mail, causing an inefficient process for both sides.
Benefits of using Clearpath’s HIPAA-compliant web portal:
- Faster, more reliable record fulfillment
- No postage or mailing delays
- Immediate electronic access to imaging—no discs required
- Real-time visibility into request status, eliminating the need for follow-up calls
Do we have to use Intermountain Medical Imaging’s Medical Authorization form?
No, you’re welcome to use your own HIPAA-compliant release, as long as it includes the required information. It must be signed and dated by the patient. If someone other than the patient signs, please include documentation establishing their legal authority (e.g., Power of Attorney). Also, please inform us if you are acting as Co-Counsel.
Must I use Clearpath for my request?
Yes, this is how we process all legal requests.
